From Acorn to Oak

Beautiful time lapse video of an Acorn to Oak by Neil Bromhall sent to me by MG Carol Kagan

  1. That's a very cool video - we should try that with something we're growing (take a picture every day and then ask Laurie to turn it into a movie?) - great post.

  2. Ooh. I like the idea, too, although I'm no judge of how, or how easy/dificult it is. I'll check with folks who know something about photography, and see if we have the capability in house to pursue it.

  3. I did a little research, and asked some folks who are much more informed about photography than I am. It would require dedicating a stationary camera, focused on the one spot, and a fixed schedule of snapping the pictures. There are cameras that do that part for you - similar to security cameras. It then would require some software to take the set of fixed pictures, and turn them into a video. Finally, it takes someone with artistic talent, not only photography skills, to put it all together. All potentailly doable, but probably outside our range.
