MG Georgia Townsend: Our Victory Garden group had an introduction to
IPM,
Integrated Pest Management, or
A Common Sense Approach to Pest Control. Pointed out were various strategies to keep pest populations and diseases in check in a cost-effective and environmentally sound manner. Promoting and monitoring plant health, identification of pests and diseases and options for control (cultural, mechanical, chemical, genetic and bio controls) were covered.
