From the Native Woodland section of my shade garden. Stuff in bloom. Pictures taken May 8th, 2011
Note the Twin Leaf, or Jeffersonia diphylla in the background. Bloomed a few weeks ago, but I missed taking a picture. Seed head forming. Nancy Miller's fancy striped lily of the valley in there, too.
This one is out in the woods. Pink Lady Slipper or Cypripedium acaule, a native, North American Orchid
Back in the garden, a Yellow Lady Slipper, or Cypripedium calceolus.
Yellow and Pink together
Showy Orchis, or Galearis spectabilis (Orchis spectabilis)
Red Trillium, or Trillium erectum along with the Toadshade Trillium or Trillium sessile
Jack in the Pulpit, or Arisaema triphyllum
Jacob's Ladder, or Polemonium reptans
